Memorable November

It’s a special month for me, because it’s my birth month. Because my birthday falls in November I remember more than 20 birthdays of my friends which falls this month. It’s just not only the birthday's it’s also close to 10 marriages which I’ve missed this month. So it’s been busy month for most of the people, who I know, and it’s also a holiday season here, and almost everybody has something to do than their normal routine stuff.

I should have bought many things for this thanks giving day deal, but didn't buy anything except spending money in Indian restaurants all around the east coat during our 4 day trip. I have bought a new D-SLR camera few weeks back and I am trying to find how to use it properly and still I am learning. Since I could remember many people birthday’s this month, one day I tried to remember the names of my classmates from my school days whom I never had touch after I left school.

Below is the list of name that I could remember, in case if I think about this in the future, at least I have a list to verify. I also tried to remember their nick as well but I don’t remember most of their nick names so i tried to remember few things about them, Like Tom Hangs says in "Saving Private Rion" movie. We should think about the content to remember the peoples' face.

Ramesh – Ponni

RuthraMoorthy – Karuvayan

Ramachandran – Thatha

N Yuvaraj – Gundan

Cycling or Biking

When I was studying in school I used to travel 4 km’s in cycle to catch a bus from my home. For 3 to 4 years I had to travel 8 km’s in cycle almost every day and 30km’s in bus that’s different story  Now the time has changed just for fun and some physical activities I am going for a cycling here. That too a cycle with a gear’s in both front and back, it was a dream cycle when I was studying in school. I forgot the cycle name but still I remember the ad where Yuvaraj used to come in a gear cycle.

It was really tough to go in a cycle for four km’s in sand road and that too in the morning in about 12 to 15 minutes of time. But I never felt the tiredness and in evening during the spring I had to travel in west direction and the wind will be very heavy. Almost 2 to 3 months of time we used to feel very difficult to travel in the evening, but in the morning the wind won’t too much and there won’t any help though we are travelling in the wind direction. During monsoon season 30% percent of the time we used to get wet in evening since there won’t be any place to hide in that 4 km’s route except the trees and some trees could save us for about 5 minutes and after that if the rain continues no use. We used to cover our school bags in a plastic cover and we used to have caps in plastics too. During the summer there won’t be any rain but still we will get wet because of the sweating. We never felt the difficulty while travelling in cycle during those days and now within 2 or 3 miles itself I am feeling tired though I am travelling in a good road which is specially meant for cycling. Most of things in our life will inform that, our life has changed lot and cycling is one among them for me.

One year away from home country

One year has been completed since I came to United States. In this one year I have learned lots of new things and I got lots of exposure which I didn’t get when I was in India. At the same time there is a huge list which I have missed because I am here. To name a few 3 marriages from our Donz gang and I missed others in the gangs to whom I used to hang out with. Next in the list is Food, Bike ride and off course my family. There are 6 to 7 guys in our gang are here and I am lucky to be spending some trip with them and it was fun as we had in our college days. I have seen lot’s new places and learned lot’s of new culture and learned to survive with bread, burgers… Stretched to work 24 X 7 and faced lot’s challenges during the work and still it’s continuing. I should say I have learned to face these challenges and still learning lot’s of new things.. I should speak about the climate which I have seen in this whole year like snow, freezing temperature even less than that and in Florida it was hot like India.

Below are few photo’s of the same place which I have taken in a different periods.

Now I am almost bored with what am doing and I am ready to take new challenges in my work and in my personal I life I used to continue as I am doing now..

Golden days…

When I was studying in college I used get to 2500 to 3000 rupees per month from my father for my monthly expense. The house rent was 800 to 1000 and around 1200 was spend in Mess (Hotel) and the remaining was the pocket money for the whole month. I am sure that I have spent more than 60% of those into movies alone. While on the month end no one had money in our pocket and some of our guys used to have safety money (May be 1000) in their account. I used to borrow 50 rupees from one of them and will go to my native place to spend a weekend and get 100 or 200 rupees extra for that month. The bus ticket from Coimbatore to Karur was 40 rupees and I had just 10 rupees left on my pocket to make a call to my brother to go home if he was around the bus stand or I will catch the town bus (15 kms from the town) and go home. When I reach home I had only few rupees left in my purse and I was happy at that time. I never had any expectation at that time. Those are the happiest days of my life. Now I am spending the same money which I was spending in whole month in just one dinner or lunch but I am not happy as like I was before.

Life is changing quickly and expectations are changing every day and I am sure after 10 year I will write a post saying that I was happy 10 years back… !!!!!!! Yes remembering the past in my life is always sweet….

A Cycle

I was studying 4th standard and I used to sleep very early (comparing to now a days) at 10pm itself. It was almost 12 my dad and my uncle came with a surprise gift. I couldn’t even recognize weather it’s a dream or real. It’s a captain cycle (blue color) and they were asking me to ride. Tough it’s 12 I want to ride but I was too sleepy. I have just ridded inside our home itself and they were happy. Yes we have plenty of open space in center of our home. I hope you have seen in many movies which suited in villages. There was one more event which made me to laugh at that time. They were asking my brother to ride but he couldn’t since he was too lazy, he didn’t even getup from the bed :-). He was always lazy than me but now when I am at our home he leaves to work before I getup (Yellam kalam seyitha kolam). Now it’s not even a 10 days per year where we use to live in the same home. I came out from our sweet home around 8 years back to enter into college after that our home is become a tourism spot or relatives house. Tough I was the first person to ride the cycle I couldn’t take the ownership of it. But I became an owner because I am the person who sits in the back (People use to say that the person who sits in the back seat of the car is the owner). My brother has to carry me for a long time.
I don’t even think about a single day were we don’t have fight while we were going to school. The fight was always like main dish in our journey.

It’s good experience to fight with your own brother like a lifetime enemy. I hope the same situation could have been happened in many families where they have two boys in their family. He used drop me in middle of the way and made me to walk when the fight becomes very peak. Sometimes I have to walk the whole route (around 4 km’s :-(). There were some days he may come back and asking me to sit but at that movement my anger could have been sitting on my head so I won’t even listen to him. Even though I had an equal share in that cycle he owned it completely for a long time. I never carried him in the cycle but he should carry me for the whole period and that was the only advantage for me.

When ever I see that cycle I used to remember those old days and some times I may laugh myself.

You have to know how to accept rejection and reject acceptance. - Ray Bradbury
