IT industry

IT industry is like Indian share market. We really don’t know when it will be in boom or when it will go down. Now it’s downfall for it in India. Yes few months ago in US most people have lost their jobs. The statistics tells that every month there were 80K employees have lost their job till May. Now it started in India, Last Friday there were 200 people who lost their job in our company. People are telling it will get stable only at the end of 2009. Let’s hope to get stable soon.

Laptop

It's really hard to take a decision before buy a laptop. Weather it's not coming in an affordable price or I am not getting my configuration for my own price. Then the Brand.. Which one to choose.... Everyone is saying that Dell is having a good service. So I have to give it for service weather they are doing the good or bad service. Then HP... Though the possibility of going for the service is low it will take at least 2 months to get it fixed if it needs to be. Then the great brand Apple Mac available in the price range which I am looking for but there is no support for the Microsoft application. Finally I decided to go for Sony, but couldn't get my color. If I purchase in Sony website its 20% more than the deals web site. Have to decide and order by tomorrow. Let see weather I will make it.

Cooking

It was just a word that I used to hear when I was in offshore. But the funniest thing was I have taken class to samy to cook in his flat with some practical. Now I can say that "I know cooking" tough I can’t say I am an expert. The credit goes to our roommates and especially to Ajmal Bhai who taught me the varieties of cooking. Still I am the dosa master in our room. I don’t know how but I used to make good dosa and people liked it. It’s really a good feeling when your own cooking satisfies you. After all these nice cooking the hardest part is cleaning. It’s one of the toughest job that I can thing at the movement. I used to clean always and will get irritate if some one is making the room dirty or not washing their plates. I am the only person who used to clean our rooms most of the times from my college days. I like the word clean and I always want to be clean. I won’t say our room is really clean but I won’t say it’s really bad. Now a days I become lazy to clean it’s not only because of me none of us are showing interest to clean the room.

Niagara

It’s just a falls where we can take some photos in different angles and that’s it. There is one major fun is missing in this big falls which is available in most of the falls. Yes you can’t enjoy the water fall by taking bath and jumping into the water... The only thing which is possible is that we can go near to it and there will be some water drizzling on us. Even you can’t feel that fully since they are giving some rain court (Plastic cover) to protect you from being wet. When I compared to other falls this is the only place where people are protecting not to getting wet in a falls (Yena koduma sir ithu). Here the purpose of visiting the falls itself is getting defeated. People can say “it’s a big false so you can’t take bath” But I don’t thing so… When they are able to control the water flow somewhere inside the country why can’t they make some arrangements to enjoy the water fall. One more thing which I don’t like is people are coming as a family that to with just 3 or 6 months old child and standing in a queue more than 3 hours. I don’t know what those kids are going to do over there. Is it a pilgrims or something like that you must go and visit the place at least once in your life time? It’s just a falls where you should have some enjoyment. Then there is big park over there and people are use to take rest and have their food and chat since most of the peoples are more than 50 years old. Who knows that’s why they have named it as “Niagara state park” instead of falls. Almost 90 % peoples are Indians and I don’t know how many parents are really happy after coming to Niagara.

I would like to say to all the Indian’s that “We have lots of good place in India than Niagara and we have lots of places over there where our parents really want to go”. So don’t take some foolish decision of calling your parents here and to stand in a queue to just see the falls. Instead go to India and take them to the place where they want to go in India and stay with them for some days. I am sure that will make them happier than all the way coming to Niagara.

At the end my comment about Niagara is “We are just allowed to see it, instead of enjoying it”.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point is an amusement park which located in ohio state. It was too good experiance and I got scared in almost every ride. I got to know that it’s famous for roller coast rides and I agree that it’s the best. Whenever I go to amusement parks I used to go at least twice for the same ride. But in cedar point not even a single ride I wished to go for a second attempt. There were two reasons for that, we went on long weekend so the crowd was too much and we had to be in a queue for more than 2 hours for a single ride and for some of the rides it’s almost 3 hours. Obviously the second reason "I got scared to go for the second attempt". There is one good thing about that trip was we were able to complete 9 rides and all rides are rated 5 out of 5. Last time nari (Narendran) went there and he could complete only 3 or 4 rides. There was one ride (Top Thrill Dragster) which runs just 15 seconds for that we had to stand in a queue for 2 hours and it was worth. It’s the fastest (120 mph) ride in cedar point may be fastest in worlds. I just found that it’s fastest and the tallest roller coaster in the world.
The other rides that we went are Wicked Twister, Raptor, Millennium Force, Maverick, Mantis, Magnum XL-200, maXairand Skyhawk. When I am looking into the photos and the videos that we took I couldn’t believe that we went on those rides. It’s a really scary and thriller.

Blood pressure

After a long time I got up at 6 am may be first time since I came to US. I had to go for the medical checkup at 7 to get the physical fitness certificate. The stupid PA state DMV’s are asking for certificate to get the learners permit. It’s really hard to get a doctor’s appointment to just get the certificate. Finally I found one medical centre where they used to do the fitness test for most of the company employees. The hard thing about that centre was they are not supporting “Aetna” insurance but they are supporting more than 50 other insurance providers and it cost me 50 bucks from my pocket.

Though they had a normal checkup the vision checkup was tough. I couldn’t even recognize the letters itself but the lab attendant asked me to close my left eye and read that line. I am sure out of 8 letters 3 could have gone wrong. I don’t thing nobody had red that correctly in the past since it was too small to read from a long distance. Then I had a bp and pulse test on my left hand. She said “it seems little bit high for you and let me check again in the other hand”. No use the same result it’s 86 in diastolic reading. The normal should be between 70 and 80. The doctor said I could have been bit nervous when the test has done since it’s a new place for me. But I am sure this is the first time I am too relaxed when they were doing the bp test. Normally my pulse rate will go up whenever they do the test but this time it’s just 77. I found that the bp 86 mm hg comes under the category “High Normal”. I don’t know what does that “high” and “normal” means. :-)
