Movies Three in a row..

Slum Dog Millionaire

The other side of the Mumbai has been shown with the stunning cinematography. Concept of one hour show has kept the momentum till the end of 2 hour movie. It’s a must watch movie. Now it’s started getting released in many new theaters after a month the movie has been into the show, I expect it would be a huge hit.

Yes Man

This is the first time I am seeing Jim carry’s movie in theater and it’s worth watching. It’s just a concept of saying the word “Yes”. How simple is that???????? Go and watch it.

Seven Pounds

The movie from the director who directed the Pursuit of happiness. He has proved once again and I have almost cried. Single man (Will smith) steals the show and I always like him acting in these kinds of movies.  Screenplay was awesome though it was slightly slow for 10 minutes in the first half. Definitely one should watch.

In all of these three movies there is one similarity which is the concept behind the movie. It’s simple but so powerful. I wonder how these Hollywood directors are taking such movies. There is something on them.. :)

Thanks giving trip Third Day..

We were little bit tired since we had a long travel on second day but still we were exited to see the Yellow stone national park. We started little bit early since we had heavy schedule planned on that day and needs to travel more than day 2. There are two entrance to the park, the one from the east side of the park and don’t think that it’s just a park for few acres of land it’s almost 5 to 10% (May be in 1000s of acres) of Wyoming state and we were just 70 miles away from the west entrance. We get into the highway and there was message on the road which we used see in all roads we have been travelling. It says “Road closed when flashing” with two yellow light above that and unfortunately the lights were flashing which we didn’t see on those past two days. Everybody has started suggesting their own idea and finally everyone said the same answer “I am ok for anything” but nobody has suggested that “anything”. By that time we have drove almost 10 miles which is going to be closed soon and we saw one big lake that’s what I said but actually it was a Dam, we stopped to take few photos. Damn it was very cold and we just enquired one person (Seems like an army officer) who was sitting in his car and waiting for someone. He said that the road is closed and asked us to return to Cody (from where we started) and enquire in Visitor center. What to do let’s return and go and catch the Visitor center and get some idea how to enter into the national park. “Turn left and you have reached your destination” says our GPS. We were running towards the door, OMG it’s closed !!!!!! Already an hour has gone and we don’t know how to go there and thought of driving to Rapid City (RC) which is 400 miles away and the place where we supposed reach late in the night. In the previous night when we entered into the city we thought it is a big city but we couldn’t find anyone to ask about the alternate route. Thank god there was a Gas station and seems to there is one person inside it and we asked him the alternate route for the park. He said the northeast entrance is always open and we can enter into the park and inside the park most of the roads were closed. We taught ok why can’t we just drive till afternoon and return to Rapid City from there. The route which we are going now is in the opposite direction to RC. So we had to make the travel as less as possible but there was no way for that. The north entrance is 150 miles away from Cody. Ok lets drive don’t waste time says our Guider/Driver. After we reach the entrance we realized that we didn’t miss anything and we had chance to see lot’s good place from there. Yes it was beauty.. see the photo’s..

Now we are in the entrance and never thought of returning back and decided to travel in the same direction since the place was awesome and the road was fully filled with snow. We decided to go till the Cooke City (has only a few 10’s of home and it’s a city) which is in the center of park. We had to fill our Gas and we had only one Gas station in that city and luckily it was open. We were very happy since we say lot’s Snow mobiles standing outside those few houses and when we saw the board “Snow mobile will available for rent” we were almost into the peak of our happiness. Again our bad luck unfortunately the snow mobiles are not available since the snow was very less and they said 10 feet of snow is needed for that. But for us seeing those few feats of snow itself a huge thing. The Gas keeper suggested that if we still drive on the same road we can see lot’s wild animals and the drive will be so nice. As she said it was wonderful we could see lot’s animals and we have crossed one more state and entered into Montana state area. And we were seeing the travel guide, except one place everything was closed and it’s Mamood hot springs. After 3 hours drive unfortunately the place was not as good as we expected. But the whole drive was awesome and it’s evening we are behind the schedule by 4 hours. We need to drive back to RC and when we checked in GPS its 550 miles, ooo god the expected reach time is 1.30 Am. All the fun that we had in the day time has gone after seeing 7 hours of drive in GPS display. What to do no other go, we had to go yo RC and we drove. When 3 hours of drive is being left I took over the driver’s responsibility and what a bad time it was, it started snowing for an hour. Though the snow looks good the driving was really tough. I had to be very careful and my Co-driver was giving me lot’s tips while driving. Finally we reached the hotel one hour ahead of time that GPS shows.. Tomorrow it’s going to be about Mount Rushmore.. So stay tuned..

I am sorry if I had put lots of mokai on this…

Thanks giving trip Second day

As I was busy with my work I couldn’t continue my trip memories on the next day. I thought today I have worked too much and decided to complete the trip memories.
One of my friend suggested that he wants to know culture and other info for those places that we went. And his comments are really a valid so I am going to add some more stuff other than my memories. The next day we went to Rocky mountain in Denver and people used to say this place is good for skiing and the time when we went was no suited for skiing though there were some frozen lakes in the mountain. Before we go there I heard that there are 150 lakes in and around Rocky Mountain. But we were manage to visit only few in half a day since we had to travel almost 500 miles for the next place. We want to spend the half day usefully and we went to information center and it is really an info center not like a tourism center which we have in India and it was very useful for us. But in India we can stop anywhere we want and get the info from anyone over there and it’s not possible here. As per the map we got from the info center we drove thru some of the roads and the place was so beautiful and I realized it seems like the Himalayas though I just those only in photo’s. Today also we have seen some places/roads which were closed but it’s not because of the holiday it’s because of the snow. We went to Bear Lake which was completely frozen and people were just playing like anything in the corner. I and my friend went to the middle of the lake and people started entering into the middle and this is the fist time in my life I am seeing, standing and playing. The Frozen ice was hard like a rock but it was looking like a Glass. The temperature was below -5 and we couldn’t spend more time outside. Then the long drive begins to Cody (City 70 miles away from yellow stone National Park) and we reached around 10.30 in the night and we were completely tired. Just before we reach the hotel in the middle of road we seen a deer is crossing.
And I am tired now and will be continued… :)

Thanks giving holiday trip..Day one

One of my longest trips ended very soon. Still I couldn’t overcome from the tiredness but I have forced to complete one task as soon as possible. Since we drove almost 2500 miles in four day we should be tired. Initially I taught of writing a post each day from my trip at the end of day the tiredness won and I couldn’t able to write it also i was following the Mumbai terror attack news. The climate was very cold and we could able to survive till the end though there was heavy snow and heavy wind while driving.

Day One: Thanks Giving Day
We started with a place called Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado Springs and it was just built for tourism and it’s one of the high suspension bridges in the world. The bridge is just connecting the two canyons and it might be half a mile long but its 1100 feats above from the ground. There was a creek underneath the bridge and the view was awesome and there was railway on the coastal of creek too. There was a sky diving at the top of the mountain and it’s 1250 above from the ground and we had a chance to ride and it was a thrilling experience. After completing the Royal Gorge Bridge we felt hungry and it was very hard to find a restaurant or any food store since it’s a holiday. At last we found one (சாமி சோறு சோறு .... !!!!!) and they were about to close but they didn’t tell us till we were waiting to pay the bill. Since it was a closing time they didn’t want us to pay the bill they just asked us to pay the tip if we really want to give and we gave the amount which we supposed to pay. Due to this delay in finding the restaurant we have missed on beautiful place in a few minutes of delay. We were supposed to enter into the Peaks Pike at 3 O’clock but unfortunately we were late by 10 minutes. (வெள்ளக்காரன் கரெக்டா டைம் மெயின்டெயின் பண்றான்.. !!!!!!! ) Then we decided to go to other places which we had it in our list like Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls.. but everything was closed. Finally before we leave the Colorado Springs we went to Garden of the Gods which should have been closed as per the schedule but it was open and we never find any official people or gate to stop us to enter into that Garden. Finally it looks like it was full of sand rocks in a red color and we don’t the reason why did they named it as Garden of God’s. We could see lots of people in the garden and we taught that they are also same like us. It was almost 5 in the evening and we decided to leave to the hotel having one place (US Air Force Academy) in a mind to visit on the way to hotel. I never thought that they will allow us inside at 5 O’ clock and surprisingly they did. We were very eager to see that place because of this building…

While I started writing this post I taught of completing the whole trip in one post but there is lot to write about the places that we went and I will continue in the future posts..

Planning for the trip..

The term "Planing for the trip" is new to me and this is the first time in my life before starting for the trip I am planning something which is called as Itinerary. But many people won’t accept this since it’s just a list of address of placeless which we are planning to visit. On the other hand this trip is one of the unplanned or the one which don’t have the itinerary in his carrier in US. I am going with a person who wants to be planned and prepared before we go somewhere but unfortunately I am going with him so it might not be as he expected. One of my friend is also joining with us in the place where we are going to start the trip by our itinerary. As I am creating biggggggggggg hype I don’t how big will it be but I am sure this trip will be the different one which I have gone once I comeback. Since we are always going to be surrounded by snow and we have to travel long way and it should be different and hopefully we will cover all the places which we have planned. This trip is going to be four days and the itinerary which I prepared is for only one day…. :-)

இப்பவே கண்ண கட்டுதே !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I say “Planning for the trip” I cannot forgot the trip which I had with my colleagues when I was working in Chennai. The trip started from Plan A and ended with Plan Z since we had too many intelligent people who planned that trip

It’s good to see the photo’s....

As every one knows watching the photographs are really a good feel which I had today by looking into my old memories. Some photo’s made me to laugh and some made me to feel good and few made me feel bad. At the end it was good feel to look into those memories.

Varanam Aayiram

Surya has showed lots of change on his body and I felt that, the Dad character was not well suited for him. First half was very good since it has too many songs and it was going fast. But the second half was little bit slow and there are only 2 songs (i think) and it’s a lengthy movie (3 hours). Again in this movie also there are few (may be more than few) scenes which were happened in my life too. It's a very good movie which shows the very relationship between dad and son. Overall the movie was good and one can watch it silently. There were no stupid mistakes except the lengthy second off and off course it won't come under the stupid mistakes list. Surya was superb in the last half hour but the heroine was not 25 % what Surya was by looking though she was 2 times bigger than him :-). First time in US I am watching the Tamil movie in a good theater but I cannot compare with Satyam.

Project..

There is one project which i started working when i came here and still i am working on that for some enhancements. From the day i started and till now i haven't satisfied about the progress of this project. Which doesn't mean that i didn't put my 100% effort on this and in fact most of the time i have tried more than 100% to make this project a user friendly one. Even as a developer i never liked its user friendliness though i have learnt lot of new things to make it a big success. But nothing is working till this date and we have started from the technology which was released when i was studying in college and till the latest which is released this year. There were lot's of changes in the way the tool (project's end result is a tool) is working and at the end something is stopping us to proceed further. So we have to step back and go in other direction and we have tried almost 10 alternatives and all had cost more hours. But at the end for the manager it has to be completed in a specific time though we are putting 100% more time than the allocated time. In this circumstances one more guy (other project manger) is asking how many hours have you worked??? What did you do for the first hour on a day (Which was from 2 month back)???.
I am wondering is that the project management????? Only god has to help me in this... :-(

Sourav Gangully..

A great captain who brought up the aggression to the game and gave chances to lot’s fresher’s. He was the best opponent for Ponting as a captain. I was really amazed when he was batting with sachin and there were times I wished him to overtake sachin runs. When I started watching cricket and when I get to know all the players in the team sourav was my favorite cricketer especially for his offside shots and for his huge sixes. Still sachin and sourav is the best one day opening pair. The way he comes back to the team shows his dedication to the cricket and he left with good winning knock to which he has contributed and it will happen only to few players. He was lucky for that though he had gone into lots of controversies. Though Sourav’s success rate as captain is low in overseas in both form of the game compare to Dravid’s still sourav is remembered for his captaincy. I wish him all the very best for his rest of the life.

It’s been a good day for me.. B'day..

Lot’s of unexpected things happened to me today.. As usual I never mind about my birthday and I taught of just putting new shirt which I got a couple of days back. I am happy that I really liked the shirt which I normally won’t do after I buy any new shirt. I got a card from one of my colleague (Arun) with whom I am spending lots of time and it was a surprise for me. Then as usual the work continues and after noon I dint have the feeling of doing work since we did complete one task for which the deadline is tomorrow and it was not always happening in the current environment which I am working on now. In the afternoon Arun came to my place and we had some mokai and both of us were not in a mood of working and we were looking to leave as early as possible which we did for one other reason too. We had our team dinner which was not planned for my birthday and unfortunately both came in the same day. It was a Japanese restaurant and we 10 guys have gathered and I taught nobody knew today is my birthday. But when I entered everybody started whishing me and it was knew to me. After that I saw one of my colleague who is entering with cake and I really got surprised and little bit worried because I never had cut cake for my birthday. The restaurant OOKA was a very good experience which I didn’t have in my life other than the Kayenthi Bhavan. They will take the order and the cook will come to our table and he will start cook in front of us and tables are designed with that facility to do that. But it’s royal when we compare with kayenthi bhavan. While I was watching him how he is cooking and I didn’t even realize that he has completed cooking before I started eating. When I reached my room nobody was there and I taught that they went for dinner. And my assumptions were correct and when they back to room they gave me a gift which is again rare thing for me..
Any way it’s been a wonderful day for me and I thank every one for that….

Life without a women.. Can you imagine..?????

Today as usual I was searching the TV programs in techsatish since there were lot’s of Diwali special programs. If it’s really a good program then they used to put it in the first page. When I opened the page I saw an interview with Surya from jaya tv which was named as "கனவுகள் ஆயிரம்" . It was a good program where his friends have spoken about him. As usual he is very humble and accepted that he has lots of duty left on him. For a moment I realized and taught that I should never forget my past and I should be as I am now and should not change in the future whatever i am going to be.
Then I was looking for one of my favorite program (Super singer) and I found that something which starts with sivakumar. I was very egar to watch that program and it was named as “சிவக்குமார் வாழ்க்கையில் தாய், மனைவி, மகள் ”. It was all about women who are in his life and the important of women in life. I should say that I have never seen program like this or never heard anything like this till now. I hope it’s because he has explained his own story and it’s really touched my heart and most of people who were listening were crying. He had lot’s of humor and made us laugh some times. I can say that some of those incidents were happened in my life too. It was all about my Amma. Of course I can’t say that the rest of his incidents has happened to me or will happen to me since I am far away to talk or think about the next two women’s who are going to be In my life… I have almost cried in some places and I am sure if you watch this you will also feel the same. Now I realized that why Surya is so humble.. I always respect this artists from the cine world and now I am thinking I should be at least 10% of what he spoke and I wish I should watch this video once in a year to follow it..
Please watch this to know where you stand and not when you find time … His speech is only 45 minutes and almost more than 30 minutes are ads… Don’t scold me for that.. J
I am sure it’s really deserved the word “worth watching it...”

Lot’s of things has happened in the past one week..

India has registered their biggest win in test and Australia has faced its biggest defeat in the past decade. I would say Dhoni has done an excellent job as a captain than the batsman though he got two 50’s. The good captaincy always makes the difference irrespective of their opponent.
Last week I went to Pittsburg to get some blessings from Venkadasalapathy. I am quite happy with that trip.
First time in US I went to see doctor. Last week I fell down in tennis court and I got little bit of scratch in my right elbow and it didn’t get healed till now. I was really worried since it was a very small scratch and normally it didn't even take more than 3 days to get healed when I was in India. And finally decided to go to doctor and got the appointment yesterday. She just gave some antibiotic tablets and she also checked my BP and the same old story and it’s little bit high. I never knew that it was a long process to get the tablet from pharmacy. It took almost 15 minutes to get the tablet and my friend told it was very fast. Compared to India the tablet is very costly and the pharmacist told that It’s not that expensive. Then only I realized that how important to have the insurance when you are here.

Songs….

Now a days it’s really difficult for me to sleep without listening to songs. I used to listen music when I was working from offshore and I was wondering after I came here weather I can hear songs or not. It was a new environment for me and it took me more than a month to realize that I was not listening to music. Then I started looking into oters and luckily my boss was doing that. Then I started it and till now I am listening to it and if I didn’t hear music may be somebody is screwing up with work like too many communications and meetings. Even if I have too much work I used to listen and I always feels that if I do so then I am able to complete my tasks quickly. I have one bad habit of not removing my ear phones. I don’t when I am falling sleep when I in bed while listening to music and after some time mostly it will be in morning the ear phone cable would have formed one knot around my neck and the player will be under me. Because of this one of my ear phone is not working now.. I like Ilayaraja’s music and I don’t have the collection which I had when I was in India and now I only having the AR’s collection. If I think I don’t want to get distracted by music I will listen to Thiruvasagam. It’s one of my favorite albums.

Test match drawn... Why?

This is my personal opinion about the first test which ended in draw. Why the Indians are not changing their tactics for more than a decade. Can’t we chase those 299 runs in 83 overs when we say that “we are having the best batting lineup in the world”. Then why are they still depending upon the single person Sehwag? When he got out every one taught that we are going to loose this match so lets try to draw. That’s what happened at the end. When the bowler like Kumble couldn’t take a single wicket in this pitch does it that difficult to get 299? It was last game for Kumble in his home soil and at the end he couldn’t even satisfy anyone as a player or Captain. But he said that he did his part as captain. If at all I could have been in Kumble’s place after Sehwag got out I might have asked Sachin or Dhoni or Bhaji to get in and keep the run rate high. At least this might have changed Aussies game plan and they might have taught we are also ready for their challenge and they might be under pressure if we got some runs. Even if the person who might get out at the first ball couldn’t make a difference since we lost Dravid wicket earlier. May be that could have been an advantage for Dravid’s batting and I am sure he could have got some runs on the board as well on his own clock.

I would say the FAB four and Kumble are great players and they are mentally very weak as of now. They are going in very defensive mode and I am thinking if they keep on have this mentality it’s very difficult to draw this series itself. This is the great difference between India and Australia and almost the Aussies have won the match yesterday with lots of rookies in their team. Before this series starts every body says that Aussies are very young team, inexperienced and they are having only 4 players who have played test match in India. I am sure for the rest of the series nobody will speak about this.
I would like to congratulate Ponting for his brave decision and putting the great Indian batsman’s under pressure.

Till now Kumble didn’t do any impressive task as a captain except that some good communication earlier this year. At the end, though Sachin got 49 everybody started criticize him since he didn’t pass Lara’s record. I am confident that if we need output from sachin we have to through our captain out. May be we can give a chance to Ganguly for better ending of his carrier …. :-) He is the great captain that India ever had.

Nail biting vs Smoking

I hate it. But I can’t stop biting my nails. People who are seeing me while I am biting my nails used to scold me. Even one my friend used to ask me “weather you didn’t have food or what?”. I used to tell them that “I will stop from now onwards and this is my last bite” like the people who are smoking. In my college days and even now I am seeing lot’s of smoking people who says that “this is my last buff or cigarette” but I didn’t even seen single person who stopped smoking. It’s same case for me too. I can say that I have almost addicted to this. I am biting while am thinking while I am getting angry.. I don’t know how am going to stop it. I really feel bad about it. :-(
This my 5oth post and i would like to write a post in the future saying that i stopped bitting :-) . I hope before my 100th post i wll do....

Global Economy and the 123 Agreement is signed

Wall street, Dow Jones, Bail out, Economy crisis.. are the words which are repeatedly written in all news papers front page and heard from all news channels. Where is the world economy going???? Banks are getting bank corrupted. (Yena koduma sir ithu.. ) The bank which never shown a loss in a single quarter in their history is closed now. The world’s capital of capital's Financial street is slumping in the economy crisis. All most all stock markets from western countries, European, Middle East to Asian markets are always shown in red. The Japan stock exchange has gone into the lowest in the history of 20 years.

In front of all these the 123 agreement has been signed by the US president and it will lead these two countries to generate the energy without affecting the environment. Will India take advantage of this and boom our country economy or few politicians swiz bank account?????? We have to wait and see…

There was an impressive speech made by the US president..

Snow bowling

I have played few times after I came to US and I won in all those games that I have played. Though I am winning I am not interested in playing it and the only reason that I am playing this is to give company to others. I feel that if I spin the ball how the professional used to do then it will become interesting. I have tried few times to spin the ball but I couldn’t make it. I am able to get the few strikes and lots of spares though I am not spinning the ball. I may write some posts on this in the future based on my interest.

Family Vs Friends

If I count the number of phone calls that I am making to my family compare to my friends it will be 5% vs 95%. I feel that family is always with you weather you are in home or away from home. But at the same time when you don’t have contact with the friends for a month then it will become 6 months and it will become years. There are few exceptions too.. We as DONZ (our Gang) never forget to contact each other and we feel the same way as how we felt when we studied in our college. It’s been almost 7 years and still we have the same fun stuffs and try to make some trips. Except that we are not staying in a same room and we couldn’t meet everyone in a single place. There are three guys who got married in our gang and only half of the people who were able to attend the marriage. I really feel bad that I couldn’t attend any of them since I am here. I never felt that I am missing my home but there are times when I felt that I am missing my gang not even the college days. I used to make a call to my home once in a week (it’s too long that’s what people use to say) that too because I am here. When I was staying in Chennai I use to call once in 15 days and will go home once in a month. When I was studying in a college I never called my home except for one reason.. What else than Money. The reason that I am not having few contacts is because my brother is staying with them and even they feel the same though they are not expressing that they are missing me too much. If he gets married then they may really miss me … as a typical tamilian family anything can happen.

I really miss two things which I am not able to get it from my friends. Obviously the first thing is my Mom’s food and second one will be common in most of the families where two sons are there and it’s fight which I used to have with my brother. Though I am having lot’s arguments with my friends and my roommates nothing will be equal to the fight which I had with my brother.

And this is suppos to my 50th post.. But had to delete some posts so still 3 more to go... :-)

Grand Canyon of PA

Grand Canyon of PA is a camping site and it’s of one the State park of PA state. It is a good place to see in the fall season which we did. It’s about 4 hours drive from our place and it was worth watching it. We were lucky to be there at this time and the climate was too good for hiking. Before I see this place I was thinking that the photos which are shown here are possible only by computer the graphics. Now I accept that the nature has its own beauty which can’t be reproduced. There was a high tower on top of the hill from there we can see around 100 miles and it was a great feeling to see from there with the color changes. I am thinking fall is one the season one should feel when they are in the upper part of US.

Newyork Not for me...

Last week I went to Newyork and the city never sleeps as the same as I went before except few changes in the subway schedule. This time I went to Newyork for few my colleagues. This trip resembles my first trip except that in my first trip my friend has guided me and this time I did the job. I had a chance to meet some of my Ex-Colleagues that too in Saravana Bhavan with a great lunch. It was full of fun till the bill came into my head. I didn’t mind in paying that since it brought my old memories in Chennai where we use to go out for lunch. Those days are still remains on me from Murugan Idly shop to Chinese restaurant. Ok Back to NY …The food was awesome and that too the Rava-dosa with the Tomato chatni makes me to remember the days where I used to eat in Peterson’s road in Chennai. Except that I have missed the coffee. After the lunch we had to head towards the place where the person who comes to NY first must watch, like Wall St, WTC, Brookline Bridge and the time square. We had leave soon from there so we have missed the Madame of tussauds and the Empire state Building. It didn’t make any difference to me because I’ve already seen those places… It was good trip that too when you are meeting with your friends it’s always good. I forgot to tell one more thing this trip has been planned and executed in few hours. Thanks to all the online application and I am proud that that we as software engineer to makes things easier at any time.

A week..

There are quite a lot of things happened in the past one week. We got a biggggg (30”) TV in our room and we were able to see the US open matches from 4th round. As I expected Federer came into final and unexpectedly Nadal has lost in semi. Murray was too good in all his matches and he had the potential to beat Nadal in the Semi. But he couldn’t carry his consistency against the great opponent in the final and at the end he lost in straight sets. It’s really a great achievement by Federer to win the US open 5 times consecutively. He holds 13 Grand slams and one short of Sampras record.
I couldn’t remember when I have watched the hindi movie in the theater. But we went to Rock on and it simply Rocks. And today we went to movie called Saroja with some expectations and none of them were met. It’s simply waste.

License - NJ trip

Getting the license in PA is a big deal and I am quite happy that I could able to get it. I had to spend some extra money since I took the car from the driving school. Lee who is the person who taught me the necessary steps that are needed to get the license like parallel parking, obeying the traffic rules. Now what … just rent a car and drive in a highway for the long weekend. First time in US I am driving the car in highway and the experience was too good. We took the rental car from Phili airport and it’s Dodge Avenger Black. We didn’t have the exact plan for this long weekend so we had to make the trips on the fly.
On Saturday we went to Sea Side Heights beach it’s in NJ. It’s almost 100 miles from our place and I drove the whole distance. I didn’t expect the beach to be crowded like it was. It’s almost like Besant Nagar beach except that the water is good. Lot’s of Bikini’s were there in the beach and we had nice time over there. There was a fire show in the beach for 10 minutes and it was over around 10 PM. Now it’s night time drive for me till the place where we had the dinner (White castle in I-195). I am happy with the trip and now I am confident enough to rent a car by myself. Still there is one more thing which is stopping me to get the car for rental and that’s credit card. I don’t have a credit card and here people won’t give car for rent if we don’t have credit card. I am planning to get the credit card and I can rent a car and we can plan trip every week without depending on any one.

Sleep..

When you get a chance sleep well... If somebody asks me what's the best thing which is happening in my day to day life.. without even thinking for a second i will say it's sleep.... I always love to sleep and there were times when i used to sleep only 4 hours a day for almost a month. (That too when you in onsite) Now i am happy that i can able to sleep 7 to 8 hours day.. So when you get a chance sleep well and have good dreams. One of the reason that i love sleep is because of the good dreams.. You will get most of the things which are not possible in the real world and most of the times you won't remember what was happened when you get up... Some times I've noticed that when i sleep less i had very bad dreams. So sleep well.... :-)

BitDefender - Trojan

These two technical terms should act like enemy. But in my laptop both are joined together to take revenge on me. It goes like this, my system got affected by trojan virus and symatec anti virus keeps popping up with the message" Virus found... ". I got irritated and even that stupid trojan has removed the desktop and the screen saver properties. So i did the full scan in my symantec and it didn't find any and keeps popping up at times. I decided to get around with it and i have installed one adware to remove it and it's found lot's of virus and asked me to register to cleanup those. But i have deleted most of them manually and my roommate suggested the bitdefender anti virus. After that myself and my laptop lost the control to this stupid bitdefender. It took the complete control of the system and even i couldn't uninstall it. I have tried till 2.30 am from 11 pm at Saturday night. Still i couldn't resolve from that and i decided to sleep after the uninstall started for the BD(Bitdefender). I had put the alarm at 6 O clock in the morning since i need to support one application on Sunday, if i can't resolve the issue then that's it.. they will kill me... :-(
Still no luck when i looked the system at 6 it got hanged and it didn't even uninstall the stupid BD. I tried till 7 and finally found a way to delete the files manually instead of uninstalling it... that too i have to delete it before the service starts. I had to restart3 to 4 times to delete the files. I had to used command prompt too,,,,
Thank god at 7:15 i got the control back of my system and the funniest things is the BD was getting uninstalled though most of it's files are deleted. Who cares, i just wanted my control back and i got it.. .. :-)

Then i stated windows live scan (one care from Microsoft) and i had put my alarm at 9 and went back to sleep. Who wants to sit in front of the system at Sunday from 6 am onwards. Again i checked at 9 and only 50 % of scan was completed and it found one thread and i was happy that i can sleep one more hour. Finally i got up at 10.30 and it got completed and it's removed all the threads.

My biggest advice at the end is never ever try to install any anti-virs unless you know about it. I could have tried the AVG .. :-(

Superb blog..

After a long time I had a chance to read some Tamil post and it was really a awesome experience. I was laughing alone in office while I was reading it and it has brought lot’s of memories from my past. I couldn't remember a single instance where i was laughing while reading. The way he written with the lot’s of humor makes me to thinking of writing some post in Tamil. The examples and the slang that he has used is too good.

Here is link for the post… http://bashkaran.blogspot.com/2008/06/blog-post_9912.html

Salary…

I never felt that the salary is good enough in my three years of corporate experience. I hope it will never happen and it’s the same for most of the people. When I was getting my first month salary I was thinking that 20 % more would be sufficient. But when I was getting that 20 % more I was expecting 30 % more than what I was getting… Its goes like this and I am thinking does any one is really felt that their salary is good enough? This is the only reason which is hitting my mind to think of starting my own business. Obviously I don’t have answer for most of the questions like which business, when to start and where to start…. I will be really happy if read the block after 5 to 10 year down the line with my dream achieved. Let’s wait and see what happens…

Learning

Learning is always a easy for new technologies. But it's tougher to recollect the one which you have already learned and it's taking more time than the first time. This will happen when you switch the technologies front and back and i am almost wasting most of the time. Still i could remember that i had put lot's of enthusiasm to learn new technologies but now i am not at all showing any interest to recollect those things even though i am forced to do it.

Argument

It’s a dangerous thing if it happens many times in a friends circle. Now days I am involving in lot’s of arguments and that’s end up in a fight. Its starts from any topic like cinema, mobile, car, movie, politics etc… Wherever there is group of 4 or more people with me and we started arguing and most of the time its end up in a fight and it’s causing some issues within our relationship. I don’t know weather I am thinking with the time or going ahead of it is causing the problem. Most of the time I tried not to involve in most of topics but because of the stupid conversation that they are having in front of me making me to involve in that and it ends up in a serious discussion. After the fight it will be compromised only by Google. Thanks to Google for finding out anything and I am sure Google would be the ideal solution for most of arguments in the friends circle.

Anyway I should control myself to stop involving in those big arguments which are end up with fight though they are having some stupid conversation.

Kuselan – A Business

It’s a great business under the name of “Super Star”. A single line of story to recollect his previous movies. But not even a single scene which is comparable to the original movies. I think he wants to touch the people sentimentally. Like how MGR did in his movies. But he is using the friendship as a medium and it’s just one movie which won’t create that impact. They have used nice technique at the end of the movie for 20 minutes to let everyone talk about Rajini’s real character. It wont’ creates that impact since everyone knows his real life as "he was a conductor". In the movie they have told that too.. When pasupathy was telling that he is a friend of Rajini, santhanam will ask him “If you are friend of Rajini you can be driver but how can Rajini be a friend of Barber”.

I red lot’s of reviews which was explaining about “Rajini has answered most of the questions that everyone wants to know”. But it was not even worth for a single percent of what the review says.

At the end it will be a huge hit in south India and the producer will be very happy..

Thinking,

Which is the best time that people used to think for no reason? I hope most of the people think in their day to day life. Some will think 5 mins some will think 30mins and some will be more than that. I will come under the second category and I always think while I am on the bed before I go to sleep. Sometimes I will sleep in a minute before I start thinking. But the worst time is always Sunday night. It’s really a hard time for me to go sleep on Sunday night. It’s always more than an hour and some days it will be more than two hours. I don’t know how many of you having the same problem. I am thinking people who are working only on weekdays may have this issue. Today I don’t want to think too much…. Let’s see weather I’ll be able to find an answer for this…. .

IT industry

IT industry is like Indian share market. We really don’t know when it will be in boom or when it will go down. Now it’s downfall for it in India. Yes few months ago in US most people have lost their jobs. The statistics tells that every month there were 80K employees have lost their job till May. Now it started in India, Last Friday there were 200 people who lost their job in our company. People are telling it will get stable only at the end of 2009. Let’s hope to get stable soon.

Laptop

It's really hard to take a decision before buy a laptop. Weather it's not coming in an affordable price or I am not getting my configuration for my own price. Then the Brand.. Which one to choose.... Everyone is saying that Dell is having a good service. So I have to give it for service weather they are doing the good or bad service. Then HP... Though the possibility of going for the service is low it will take at least 2 months to get it fixed if it needs to be. Then the great brand Apple Mac available in the price range which I am looking for but there is no support for the Microsoft application. Finally I decided to go for Sony, but couldn't get my color. If I purchase in Sony website its 20% more than the deals web site. Have to decide and order by tomorrow. Let see weather I will make it.

Cooking

It was just a word that I used to hear when I was in offshore. But the funniest thing was I have taken class to samy to cook in his flat with some practical. Now I can say that "I know cooking" tough I can’t say I am an expert. The credit goes to our roommates and especially to Ajmal Bhai who taught me the varieties of cooking. Still I am the dosa master in our room. I don’t know how but I used to make good dosa and people liked it. It’s really a good feeling when your own cooking satisfies you. After all these nice cooking the hardest part is cleaning. It’s one of the toughest job that I can thing at the movement. I used to clean always and will get irritate if some one is making the room dirty or not washing their plates. I am the only person who used to clean our rooms most of the times from my college days. I like the word clean and I always want to be clean. I won’t say our room is really clean but I won’t say it’s really bad. Now a days I become lazy to clean it’s not only because of me none of us are showing interest to clean the room.

Niagara

It’s just a falls where we can take some photos in different angles and that’s it. There is one major fun is missing in this big falls which is available in most of the falls. Yes you can’t enjoy the water fall by taking bath and jumping into the water... The only thing which is possible is that we can go near to it and there will be some water drizzling on us. Even you can’t feel that fully since they are giving some rain court (Plastic cover) to protect you from being wet. When I compared to other falls this is the only place where people are protecting not to getting wet in a falls (Yena koduma sir ithu). Here the purpose of visiting the falls itself is getting defeated. People can say “it’s a big false so you can’t take bath” But I don’t thing so… When they are able to control the water flow somewhere inside the country why can’t they make some arrangements to enjoy the water fall. One more thing which I don’t like is people are coming as a family that to with just 3 or 6 months old child and standing in a queue more than 3 hours. I don’t know what those kids are going to do over there. Is it a pilgrims or something like that you must go and visit the place at least once in your life time? It’s just a falls where you should have some enjoyment. Then there is big park over there and people are use to take rest and have their food and chat since most of the peoples are more than 50 years old. Who knows that’s why they have named it as “Niagara state park” instead of falls. Almost 90 % peoples are Indians and I don’t know how many parents are really happy after coming to Niagara.

I would like to say to all the Indian’s that “We have lots of good place in India than Niagara and we have lots of places over there where our parents really want to go”. So don’t take some foolish decision of calling your parents here and to stand in a queue to just see the falls. Instead go to India and take them to the place where they want to go in India and stay with them for some days. I am sure that will make them happier than all the way coming to Niagara.

At the end my comment about Niagara is “We are just allowed to see it, instead of enjoying it”.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point is an amusement park which located in ohio state. It was too good experiance and I got scared in almost every ride. I got to know that it’s famous for roller coast rides and I agree that it’s the best. Whenever I go to amusement parks I used to go at least twice for the same ride. But in cedar point not even a single ride I wished to go for a second attempt. There were two reasons for that, we went on long weekend so the crowd was too much and we had to be in a queue for more than 2 hours for a single ride and for some of the rides it’s almost 3 hours. Obviously the second reason "I got scared to go for the second attempt". There is one good thing about that trip was we were able to complete 9 rides and all rides are rated 5 out of 5. Last time nari (Narendran) went there and he could complete only 3 or 4 rides. There was one ride (Top Thrill Dragster) which runs just 15 seconds for that we had to stand in a queue for 2 hours and it was worth. It’s the fastest (120 mph) ride in cedar point may be fastest in worlds. I just found that it’s fastest and the tallest roller coaster in the world.
The other rides that we went are Wicked Twister, Raptor, Millennium Force, Maverick, Mantis, Magnum XL-200, maXairand Skyhawk. When I am looking into the photos and the videos that we took I couldn’t believe that we went on those rides. It’s a really scary and thriller.

Blood pressure

After a long time I got up at 6 am may be first time since I came to US. I had to go for the medical checkup at 7 to get the physical fitness certificate. The stupid PA state DMV’s are asking for certificate to get the learners permit. It’s really hard to get a doctor’s appointment to just get the certificate. Finally I found one medical centre where they used to do the fitness test for most of the company employees. The hard thing about that centre was they are not supporting “Aetna” insurance but they are supporting more than 50 other insurance providers and it cost me 50 bucks from my pocket.

Though they had a normal checkup the vision checkup was tough. I couldn’t even recognize the letters itself but the lab attendant asked me to close my left eye and read that line. I am sure out of 8 letters 3 could have gone wrong. I don’t thing nobody had red that correctly in the past since it was too small to read from a long distance. Then I had a bp and pulse test on my left hand. She said “it seems little bit high for you and let me check again in the other hand”. No use the same result it’s 86 in diastolic reading. The normal should be between 70 and 80. The doctor said I could have been bit nervous when the test has done since it’s a new place for me. But I am sure this is the first time I am too relaxed when they were doing the bp test. Normally my pulse rate will go up whenever they do the test but this time it’s just 77. I found that the bp 86 mm hg comes under the category “High Normal”. I don’t know what does that “high” and “normal” means. :-)

Tennis

Playing tennis is not an easy job. I think tennis is the toughest game among the games where we play with the ball. We have to have real stamina to play tennis. It’s a real game. I always wanted to play tennis during my school days but I never had a chance. It’s always a good feel to watch tennis. It will be more interesting if there are more backhand shots and shots which are hitting on the line. Learning tennis is not so easy like playing cricket. It’s more difficult to learn and it will take year to say that “I play tennis”. Putting the service and retuning the service is the toughest part for me as of now. When I was watching tennis I used to get irritated if the player keeps hitting the net when he puts the service. Now I understand how difficult is to put a correct service. I just found that the fastest service as of now is 249.4 km by Andy Roddick. I have to play continuously and I have to write about my fastest service, game point, service breaks… Though I am very interested in playing tennis I can’t stop play and watch cricket. According to me if it’s Cricket Vs Tennis I will say cricket is 1% above than tennis. I may change this in future if I play well in tennis.

My work is a game, a very serious game. - MC Escher

A Cycle

I was studying 4th standard and I used to sleep very early (comparing to now a days) at 10pm itself. It was almost 12 my dad and my uncle came with a surprise gift. I couldn’t even recognize weather it’s a dream or real. It’s a captain cycle (blue color) and they were asking me to ride. Tough it’s 12 I want to ride but I was too sleepy. I have just ridded inside our home itself and they were happy. Yes we have plenty of open space in center of our home. I hope you have seen in many movies which suited in villages. There was one more event which made me to laugh at that time. They were asking my brother to ride but he couldn’t since he was too lazy, he didn’t even getup from the bed :-). He was always lazy than me but now when I am at our home he leaves to work before I getup (Yellam kalam seyitha kolam). Now it’s not even a 10 days per year where we use to live in the same home. I came out from our sweet home around 8 years back to enter into college after that our home is become a tourism spot or relatives house. Tough I was the first person to ride the cycle I couldn’t take the ownership of it. But I became an owner because I am the person who sits in the back (People use to say that the person who sits in the back seat of the car is the owner). My brother has to carry me for a long time.
I don’t even think about a single day were we don’t have fight while we were going to school. The fight was always like main dish in our journey.

It’s good experience to fight with your own brother like a lifetime enemy. I hope the same situation could have been happened in many families where they have two boys in their family. He used drop me in middle of the way and made me to walk when the fight becomes very peak. Sometimes I have to walk the whole route (around 4 km’s :-(). There were some days he may come back and asking me to sit but at that movement my anger could have been sitting on my head so I won’t even listen to him. Even though I had an equal share in that cycle he owned it completely for a long time. I never carried him in the cycle but he should carry me for the whole period and that was the only advantage for me.

When ever I see that cycle I used to remember those old days and some times I may laugh myself.

Cricket and first time Tennis

The weekend was very short though I got up early in the noon. :-) It was very hot for the past two days. Saturday we went to shopping and spent huge amount for the grocery alone. I had a chance to go to the new stores where I was never before (Chinese, American and Indian store). After the shopping we didn’t even have time to have coffee since it’s already 6.15. Yes it was our playing time and we went the baseball ground where we used to play cricket. We were able to play two games and then the rain has stopped us to continue further.

Sunday as usual after getting up late I have directly jumped into lunch preparation. It’s almost 4.15 when we completed our lunch and we had 30 minutes to watch some mokai program in you tube. At 5 we left the room to play cricket, unfortunately the base ball ground has been occupied by the base ball players so we couldn't play there. Then people were searching for the place where we can play cricket at that time I got a company to play Tennis. Tennis is one of my favorite game and I used to watch from my childhood. I never had chance to play tennis. It was really difficult to play tennis than watching it. Yes it took a while for me to put a correct service take the service from the other player. At the mean time people have found some other ground to play cricket. I am back to the game which I know well. Though its baseball ground it was well suited for us. Today the game was little bit tougher and there was aggression from some people too. Now a days the game is getting interested, probably if we get two or three more people to play I can remember the old days where I used to play cricket in my native place.

Thank god we have a shiva grocery here to get dough when ever we want. Today i went to jogging till grocerry to get the dough :-).... Tomorrow onwards i am planning to go jogging till shiva grocery.

Feels like home

Miami is more or like my home except that my family members were missing. Starting from kayaking till the Indian restaurant everything was awesome. This is the first time in my life doing the kayaking not only that the jet skiing, Para-sailing and the ever forgettable camping near to the sea shore.

Even I couldn’t remember the day when I went to the most south part in India (Kaniyakumari), but now I’ll never forget the place in the most south part of US where I’ve visited now. Yes it’s Key West Island and I will remember each and every second that I have spent over there. How could I forget the Jet Ski ride where I have touched Ninety kilo meter speed? It was true fun and enjoyment in the clean sea water for more than hour. Mano’s spike hair style after the ride will long lost from my memory and the 5 feet jump while kamal was riding that jet. Wow too many memories to remember the trip for the whole time. We were lucky to have kamal over there to let us explore these new places where I wouldn’t expect in future. Thanks da pangu to make this trip a memorable one. All these trip happenings couldn’t be possible without our boss Jag. I hope he will never forget my presence in Miami even if I will. Without him the trip was not so funny that too when we drive to Key West and the camping mokai.

The only bad luck in the whole trip was we couldn’t succeed in the fishing and we were disappointed that satheesh couldn’t continue the trip since he was really busy with his studies. But we will never forget the chicken Biriyani that he made on Saturday night and I am sure that it was one of the best biriyani that I ever had in my life. Till the end I couldn’t have time to ride kamal’s bike but I didn’t forget to get the pics with that.

When they left us in airport all the happiest movements were gone. Yes the flight was delayed by almost two hours and we spent almost 30 mins to collect our packages though we were the last person to get down from the flight. After that the delay was with us till I reach my room, yes the R1 train from airport to central city didn’t go on time because of that we had to cancel our dinner plan. I was waiting in the bus stop to go to my room and it was heavy rain & thunderstorm and it remembers my native place. Even though the bus started on time it reached my place 15 mins late. After that I had do walk around a mile and it was started drizzling. I was trying to run to avoid getting wet since I was too tired I couldn’t able to run. Thank god it was just drizzling not a heavy rain till I reach my room.

Finally I have reached my room and had some good sleep. Now I am back to my battle again. I hope to continue this blog …

100 % Utilization

After a long time i could spend few minitues to put a entry in log file about my status using the old HTML style. It was a 100 % uilizataion for the past 3 months and i need to reboot my brain to back into normal performance. So i have planned to shutdown my services for the 4 days starting from this saturday. The notification has been sent to all the users who wants to squeeze me. Once the miami maintanence is successfully done then my utilization will be normal (May be less than 20 %) and the memory will also be reduced.

Just trying to put mokai in a new way.. :-)

After 4 months But from US

oops... it's been a long time since i wrote a blog. it's hardly 4 months, there were lot's of things happened in this period. Yes after short long time my dream has come true... Yes I am in US now, i was very eager to know what's there in US than India even my US donz folks told me that nothing much. But I had dream about this country and always felt that something special here... :-)
With all those dreams and hopes the shocking news came to me 3 days before I left India... "You got an assignment and you have to work in US for 4 months,,, " I was internally more excited even I didn't do any reaction... Yes I was worried at that time since 4 of my project folks left India for a project here one day before i got this shocking news..... I was wondering at that time with whom i will go for a tea or lunch,,,, After i got released from ISG those 4 have filled the gap of subbu, sam and thangs.... But the worry has gone within a 24 hours when i got this news... Still i didn't tell to most of the people since anything can happen at hexaware at anytime.. Even my mom knew only after a day when i got the confirmation..
Now what.. Shopping.... Yes i never had a shopping like that in my life.. I was involved in most of my overseas friends shopping when they left Chennai,,,,, I had understand the pressure when i was doing the shopping for me, that didn't present when i was helping others...... At last on the day afternoon when i was about to leave India had completed my shopping.... i never forgot the help by koli, sam, setu and last minute help from senthil., At the mean time i have to call every one and had to convey my message..
There were some funny things happen too... when i called naidu and told the news he started laughing and asked me when are you coming to andra sine I have informed him will come to Andra in the previous call... I know he never belives that i am gonna to US,,, I am not sure, still he may think i am in chennai,... we will speak once in a while only.... (have to call him)...
Then the departure starts... First time akka is coming to chennai airtport for my sendoff... machan, koli, setu, deepak, rams and mokai came there for my send off too.. thanks guys... Finally there was some use for my passport to print some red color immigration in chennai airport... But the flight journey was not as expected... then the Frankfurt airport comes... everyone told me that it's very big airport and it will be very easy to find our catching flights...... I accept that it's really big and it was easy to go to the desired place.. .. After i landed in US only i came to know that Prasiles (in Belgium) airport is lot more bigger than Frankfurt. What ever it may be,… i have landed in my dream place with a blue imigiration mark in phili from a bubbly girl....... It was really cold...

Will continue………
